§ 54-21. Dereliction of duty.

  • Any police officer who shall witness a violation of any of the sections or provisions of the town ordinances, or should he be informed by any reputable person that they have been violated, or should refuse or fail to report cases coming under his own observation, or to investigate violations coming to his knowledge through another, and report same, shall, upon evidence sufficient to show his neglect of duty, and following all proper notice, hearing, and appeal procedures be deemed and held unworthy of the office which he holds, and shall be discharged for the first offense.
