§ 86-98. Assignment of numbers.

  • (a)

    Upon completion of the plan provided for in this article, the county joint planning board shall notify all owners of property to which a new property number has been assigned in accordance with such plan, advising them of the new numbers officially assigned to such property, that the new numbers must be displayed as provided in this article. Failure to comply with this article will subject the offender to the penalties provided for violation of the provisions of this Code.

    (b)

    The county joint planning board has final authority to assign official property numbers in accordance with this article and plan effected pursuant to this article.

    (c)

    Official property numbers must be displayed in accordance with this article at all times. Whenever new official numbers are assigned, they must be displayed within 15 days following receipt of such assignment by the owner. In addition, any owner or occupant of any house, building, or unit which has previously been issued a number shall comply with the provisions of this article no later than 90 days after adoption of the ordinance from which this article is derived.
