§ 10-27. Functions of animal control and town police department.

The town police and animal control departments shall have and perform the duties and responsibilities set forth herein, shall enforce the provisions of this chapter and of state law relating to animal control and animal welfare, shall administer and will enforce an animal control program within the town by mutual aid or inter-local agreement when so contracted. The county may apply this chapter in the town's jurisdiction. The animal control department shall maintain and operate the county animal shelter.
