Whenever any taxicab is occupied by a passenger, the driver shall not permit any other
person to occupy or ride in that taxicab without the consent of the original passenger.
If a child under 16 years of age is the original passenger, no other passengers shall
be permitted in the taxicab.
(b)
This shall not apply to a police officer who might be engaged in the performance of
his official duty and unable to obtain other and adequate means of transportation.
