§ 102-23. Taxicab stand requirements.

  • (a)

    Holders of certificates of public convenience and necessity shall maintain a central place of business and shall be capable of providing service a minimum of eight hours a day for the purpose of receiving calls and dispatching taxicabs.

    (b)

    The telephone number of the place of business shall be listed in the local telephone directory in the first available issue and all subsequent issues.

    (c)

    Certificate holders may enter into a written agreement for the joint utilization of a taxicab stand. Such agreement shall be filed with the taxi inspector immediately after execution.

    (d)

    All taxicab stands and their immediate areas shall be maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. Stand facilities shall be kept in a good state of repair.

    (e)

    Taxicab stands and their immediate areas shall be used for the purpose of parking, dispatching taxicabs, and any necessary ancillary facilities. Taxicab stands and their immediate areas shall not be sites for the general public to gather or for the conduct of activities which may produce an unusual amount of unrest, volume of noise or generally disturb the privacy of the surrounding property.
